Bedugul and Tanah Lot Tour Mengwi - Pura Taman Ayun, built in 1634 and renovated in 1937, is a lavish state temple surrounded by a wide moat and gardens and the main temple of the old Mengwi kingdom, which lasted until 1891, when it was conquered by Tabanan and Badung. Secrets of Bali (Chapter 11) discusses the end of the Balinese kingdoms. There is a small entrance charge. Pacung - Pacung is a mountain resort town looking on to a beautiful valley of terraced rice fields. Bedugul - Stunning lakeside area of the scenic crater Lake Bratan with its meru pagoda-like temple in it. Tanah Lot - Tanah Lot on the south coast is probably the best known temple in Bali.
