Eastern Bali Tour Pura Goa Lawah - Very old and sacred Bat Cave temple in a cliff face with thousands of bats hanging in the caves, across the road from the beach, where many ceremonies are carried out. It is also the home to a giant, mythical snake, Naga Basuki. There is a small entrance charge. Candi Dasa - Quiet, relaxed, charming fishing village on the lovely blue sea coast facing the island of Nusa Lembongan. You can see fishing boats and ferries going to Lombok. A good place for a drink or lunch. Tenganan - Unique Bali Aga village of the original inhabitants before the Majapahits arrived from Java. Forested hills provide a beautiful surrounding backdrop. Famous for its baskets and protective double-ikat geringsing textiles. They are quite expensive for tourists and are cheaper at Murni's Warung Shop. There is a small entrance charge. Secrets of Bali (Chapter 58) discusses Balinese textiles. Tirta Gangga - Tirta Ganga means "sacred waters of the Ganges". Royal water palace with water gardens and swimming pools fed by springs from Mount Agung, built in 1948, badly damaged in the 1963 Mount Agung eruption and now restored. There is a small entrance charge. Secrets of Bali (Chapter 41) discusses the Mount Agung eruption. Amed - Quiet, beautiful coastal town, superb coastline, views to Mount Agung and Lombok, sailing boats and excellent snorkeling and diving, a romantic spot. Salt production is carried out on the beach.
