by Jonathan Copeland
Look Inside

Rye, 70 miles south of London, is a small town, rich in history, and numerous well-preserved historical buildings. The town is just the right size to go on a walking tour. This guide takes you to every important building and explains it and directs you to the next one.

There are stories of French raids, piracy, murder, plague and Royal visits. The historical background is set out in brief history lessons to read on the tour or at home.

Book Reviews

A Book that makes you want to visit the Town

A delightful book about a delightful city. We literally followed the directions step by step! And I liked the most, the short passages into history, with saucy scandals in between! Which made me wish I had such a history professor, at school, as that would definitely had made me love history more! The book was so interesting, that I was sorry that it was so short!!

Just like Being There

In reading Jonathan Copeland’s “Walking Tour of Rye, the most beautiful town in England,” I felt as though I was right there rather than sitting at my desk in Australia. It came as a surprise to me that this town should have accumulated such a big slice of the history of England over the years. Well done!

Perfect book for Walking Tour

The perfect book for a walking tour of Rye. The information on individual places is to the point and informative. The history sections helps to give an individual place in the town its sense of time in the development of Rye over the centuries. More books like this please.
