Wayang Klitik Dupara were created in the early 20th century to tell the story of the history of Surakarta (Solo), but the performances have become rare.

Wayang Klitik puppets are made of wood and are carved in low relief. They are painted. They are moved directly in front of the audience. There is no screen. The origin is unknown and performances are rare these days.
