This glorious roundabout is called Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (Hotel Indonesia Roundabout) after Hotel Indonesia, Indonesia’s first 5 star hotel, now The Kempinski.
It’s positioned in the cenre of Jakarta on the intersection of Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Sutan Syahrir and Jalan Kebon Kacang.
The pond, fountains and lighting were renovated in 2002. It’s a favourite place for demonstrations. On Sunday mornings Car-Free Day the place is thronged with joggers, cyclists, strollers and vendors.
