Jamu Class

This is a Jamu class.

You will learn how to prepare the traditional herbal drink, Balinese traditional pain relief, Balinese Body and Hair Oil and Balinese Sun Block.  

The class takes about 2 hours.

Starts at 12 noon.

Ends at 2 pm

Meet at Nadis Herbal Shop in Jalan Suetwa . The street is at the crossroads running alongside the Royal Palace.

Book as much in advance as possible.

The Jamu Lady

You used to see the Jamu Lady in the byways of Bali, but not anymore. You still see them in Java. This lady, wearing traditional batik, is taking her bamboo basket, full of home made jamu, on her back, around the expensive houses in downtown Jakarta.

Jamu is a traditional, herbal Indonesian medicine, made from fruits, flowers,leaves, seeds, bark,  roots, and other natural substances .  The jamu makers also use eggs, milk, honey and royal jelly.
